These 20 Words Of Wisdom From Parents Will Change You.

Let's face it: in life, you're going to run into problems and predicaments. That doesn't mean you won't be able to handle them, though.

This parental advice will hopefully turn your life around if you're having a hard time. It's the kind of wise words that people at any age can benefit from. Sometimes, as a person gets older, they can forget their own good sense. So listen up, this is important:

1. “Love hurts. But it is so much better than closing yourself off for fear of being hurt and not experiencing love.” -

2. “The things that go wrong often make the best memories.” -

3. “Expect to fail. Failure is not fatal. Learn the lessons, then get back up and try again.” -

4. “Life isn't so much as doing what you want to do, but what you need to do.” -

5. “Don't rely on others for your own sense of self worth. Only you can do this and have it truly mean something. Self respect and self worth don't come from externals, but from inside you.” -

6. “All you have to do is put on your running shoes and let the front door shut behind you.” -
7. “Be of service to others. Be interested in others. People will always remember what you did for them.” -

8. “Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” -

9. “People are not bad, sometimes they just do bad things.” -

10. “Always be yourself. You'll be a much happier healthier human being. Be proud of your individuality. don't let anyone try and make you fit into their ideas of what is right and good.” -
11. “You can learn something from every single person you meet---even if it's only whom to avoid." -
12. “Buy low....sell high. (But not WHILE you're high).” -

13. “In a relationship, it’s important that a person is kind, because eventually, if (they’re) not kind to other people, (they) won’t be kind to you.” -

14. “It is not what you say, but how you say it.” -

15. “Trust yourself — You can do it and do a good job of it.” -

16. “Forgive. Yourself first and then others. We are all in this together.” -

17. “Live (your) life the best I can, because no one can do it for (you).” -

18. “When the option is there, act out of love. Accept responsibility for yourself and the impact you have on others. Live a life such that when you die you will have left your path better than it would have been if you had not walked it in the first place.” -

19. "When overwhelmed ask yourself, 'Will this even be an issue in 5 years time?'" -

20. “Expect the worst and accept the best." -

Parents really do understand! (This time, at least.)
