Sometimes, the memories of the things we did as kids still make us cringe 20 years later.
When you called your teacher by one of your parents' names
Or worse, when you grabbed a stranger's hand thinking it was your mom's
When you legitimately acted like an animal. In public.
Confession: I was also able to do that when I was 10. My friends were jealous.
When the teacher caught you picking your nose
When you got caught kissing your celebrity crush on a poster or magazine page
...Not everyone gets this out of the way at a young age.
When you tried cutting your own hair
When a poop got stuck on the way out and your mom had to come pull it out
When it was totally obvious that you'd forged your parent's signature
When all of your friends knew what a dirty word meant except for you
When you puked in the hallway at school and EVERYONE had heard about it by 1 p.m.
"I HEARD THERE WERE GREEN CHUNKS IN IT!"
When you had a dream that you were taking a shower, but actually peed all over your bed
When you spent twenty minutes building up the courage to call your crush and instead their PARENTS picked up the phone
When you got separated from your parents in the grocery store and was sure you'd be left there forever
Of course, you realized they were in the next aisle over AFTER sobbing hysterically for five minutes in front of a bunch of strangers.
When your parents yelled at you about something in front of your friends
And your friend had to awkwardly find something else to stare at until it was over.
When you finally sampled Play-Doh or scented markers and they tasted like death itself
I didn't know the red Mr. Sketch marker was actually LIE-scented.
