Sometimes, animals can’t look after themselves. Interfering with nature can be tricky, but when one man in Sri Lanka found a tiny ground squirrel dying in the forest, he couldn’t resist helping it. His journey back to health will melt your heart to pieces.
A filmmaker named Paul Williams found a squirrel in dire need of help.
The BBC Wildlife film pro discovered him left alone in the wild.
The ground squirrel’s mother must have abandoned him.
Paul took him in and began nursing him.
They hung out together at the hotel Paul was staying at in Sri Lanka.
Paul would hand feed the little guy daily, helping him regain his strength.
He wasn’t his mommy, but he was doing a great job of raising him.
Soon, the little squirrel began acting more alert, developing a personality.
Paul had to leave Sri Lanka to go back to the UK.
He left the squirrel with the hotel staff, who promised to feed the little squirrel until he was ready to be let back into the wild.
